A musical fairy tale for children and families, combining harp music and theatrical storytelling
A Harp Fairy Tale
What if a harp could tell fairy tales? Hidden within its strings might be enchanted forests, mysterious castles and stories waiting to be discovered. A Harp Fairy Tale is a musical journey for children and families, bringing together young harpists from music schools across Lithuania. With the creative guidance of a theatre director, they will create a world where music, theatre and imagination meet – and where every sound might begin a new adventure.

Have you ever wondered how many secrets can hide within a single harp string?
Perhaps a woodland fairy lives there. Perhaps a long-forgotten melody is sleeping inside. Or perhaps all it takes is one gentle touch for an extraordinary story to begin.
The Lithuanian Harp Festival Baltic Echoes invites young listeners and their families to A Harp Fairy Tale – a musical journey where sound, imagination and theatrical storytelling come together.
In this fairy tale, the harp is the main character. Sometimes it whispers, sometimes it laughs, sometimes it sounds like raindrops or wind moving through the treetops. Its strings can tell stories of distant lands, unexpected adventures and feelings that need no words.
The musical world will be brought to life by young harpists from the National M. K. Čiurlionis School of Art, Kaunas Juozas Naujalis Music Gymnasium and other music schools across Lithuania. The director’s creative vision will weave the musical performances into a unified story in which every sound becomes part of the narrative.
A Harp Fairy Tale invites children not only to listen, but also to imagine, wonder and discover. After all, in childhood, a single sound can transform an ordinary space into an enchanted kingdom.
Not every fairy tale begins with words. Sometimes, it begins with a harp string.
